A ten-day ICSSR-sponsored Research Methodology Course (RMC) for PhD scholars in the social sciences, organised by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at NIT Rourkela in offline mode.

The course covers research design, quantitative and qualitative methods, mixed methodology, questionnaire and schedule construction, fieldwork and interviewing, sampling, statistical techniques, hands-on SPSS and MAXQDA training, academic writing and research ethics. PhD research scholars in social science disciplines enrolled in any recognised Indian university or institute are eligible, with thirty seats in total.

There is no registration fee. Outstation participants receive sleeper-class train or actual bus fare reimbursement, free accommodation at the NIT Rourkela guest house, and meals during the programme. Applications must be forwarded by the supervisor and Head of Department and submitted through the official Google Form.
